Walk to the award-winning restaurant at the end of Deal’s 1000ft long pier and look back at the view that has hardly changed over the century. It’s also a favourite place for those who enjoy a spot of fishing, whatever the weather.

A short stroll from the seafront at Deal takes you to a collection of restaurants, quirky cafes, pubs and fish and chip shops – you’ll be spoilt for choice! Will it be freshly caught fish for lunch or a delicious cream tea?

Quaint white beach huts are dotted beside the promenade and fishing boats wait for the next launch. There are plenty of beach-side benches so you can pass the time of day with your feet up and enjoy those uninterrupted views. Walmer Lifeboat Station stands prominently on Walmer Green and on Sunday afternoons you can listen to the band playing at Deal Memorial Bandstand.

For the young ones, there is a safe paddling pool.
