The Astor Theatre, Deal

Given to the people of Deal by the Astor family in 1945 for the 'courage and fortitude' during WW2, the theatre has become a hugely important hub for culture, learning, shared experiences, school interaction and belonging.  

The Astor is a unique multi-purpose arts centre offering an eclectic mix of music, theatre, literary events, art exhibitions, films and a range of classes and clubs for all ages and tastes.  

Our aim is to serve the whole community by providing an inspiring, enriching, entertaining and educational programme that enables access to the arts for all.  

The Astor is open 7 days a week, presenting over 150 events every year with 30+community groups using the building every week, recording studio, music school and cafe/bar.  

All of this activity brings in over 6,000 visitors every month to the theatre and the hotels, shops restaurants and bars of Deal.
